 ACTIVITIES: 
*SPEECH TEAM: Congratulations to the speech team members who placed in the finals of the Wayzata Tournament on Saturday!  Shane Ross placed 6th in the honor finals of extemporaneous speaking, Morgan Haffenden placed 3rd in the honor finals of drama, Sorin Czoschke placed 3rd in the finals of creative and Kailey Tan and Kehan Chen placed 2nd in the finals of duo. Congratulations to all!


MISC:

*BASEBALL: There will be a meeting for all baseball players, grades 9-12, who are planning to try out for the high school team.  The meeting will be held this Wednesday morning, February 1st, at 7:30am in the Activity Center.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Gess in the Phy Ed area.


*PARKING PERMITS: Registration for trimester 3 parking is now open! Register for your permit as soon as possible before they are sold out. 


*LOST AND FOUND: Check out the Lost and Found tables in Flag Hall for your missing clothing items, water bottles, and lunch bags. Check in the main office for missing electronics, jewelry, car keys and more. Any items not claimed by the end of the school day this Thursday will be donated or repurposed.

*TJ Coffeehouse will be open for business this Friday morning beginning at 8:15 AM. Bring small bills to purchase your favorite treats and beverages including this week’s specialty drinks, Peppermint Mocha or Peppermint Latte. Please be aware that the cost of hot drinks, cold drinks, and muffins will increase by $0.50 beginning this Friday. See the school monitors for more details.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Jefferson JIVE and Connection show choirs and band. Both groups performed this weekend at the Wonderstruck competition in West Salem, WI. Jive placed second in the JV division, and Connection made finals and won third place overall. Both groups perform this weekend at Kennedy’s BK Gold competition. You are invited to come out and cheer them on.

*FOOD DRIVE: This week, January 9th-13th, NHS is holding a food drive with VEAP.  Please bring in non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations. You may drop off food to the VEAP barrels before school in Flag Hall or the main office during the school day.  You may also drop off cash donations in the main office.  When you bring in food or a donation, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a fifteen dollar gift card from Starbucks, Target, or Chipotle!" 

*PSEO: 10th or 11th grade students interested in PSEO for next year should attend an informational meeting tomorrow in the Auditorium during Advisory. Please go directly to the auditorium, you do not need to go to Advisory first. Attendance will be taken at the meeting.

*PARKING: Reminder! If you are driving to school, you must have a trimester 2 parking permit displayed from your rearview mirror. Remember that your permit allows you to park in any of the 3 student lots: the main student lot, the Activity Center Lot or the Olson lot across the street from our tennis courts. If you can’t find parking in the main student lot you’ll need to move to the Activity Center lot or the Olson lot. Students are not allowed to park in the staff lot, visitors area, or other reserved spots. We are ticketing cars that are parked in those areas and cars that don’t have a current trimester permit. Please be mindful of where you are parking and leave yourself plenty of time to find a spot in the student lots.

They will be showing the film Spy Kids in Mrs. Schmaltz room, C14. There will be snacks and homework help available to those who show up. Come and support the LHSU!
