September 29, 2023

COLLEGE/CAREER CENTER:
Sign up on Naviance to attend one or more of next week's college representative visits: The University of Iowa, Alaska Pacific University, The University of Colorado - Boulder, Lawrence University of Wisconsin, Binghamton University, Carroll University, Baylor University, and Yale University.

MISC:

*Boys, you can still sign up for Powderbuff until Tuesday at lunch. You won't be able to get a T-shirt, but you can still get a spot on the team. We especially need a few more 9th-graders!

*If you are still planning to register for a Homecoming ticket, please note that your ticket will now cost $20. Outside Guest forms must be received in the main office from your guest’s school no later than 3:15 PM on Tuesday, October 3rd. Forms cannot be turned in by students - your guest’s school administrators will need to fax or email the form to the Jefferson Main Office to make it valid.

*TJ Coffeehouse is open for business this Friday morning beginning at 8:15. Come for your favorite treats and beverages which include this month’s specialty drinks: Hot Salted-Caramel Latte and Cold Vanilla Latte. Payment using small bills is appreciated!

*The Jefferson Theater Company will present their production of Little Women this weekend! Showtimes are 7PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors and can be purchased online at JeffersonTheatreCompany.org.

*Be sure to pre-register to reserve your Homecoming ticket before this Thursday. The ticket price will go up an extra $5 per ticket if you register after Thursday. Students who have pre-registered for tickets can pick them up beginning this Monday, October 2nd during lunch. You can pay for your ticket with cash or with a check made out to ISD271.

*This is your last week to pick up an outside guest form and get it processed and returned. This usually takes a couple of days to complete so don’t wait until the last minute or you may not be able to bring your guest.

*Calling all boys who want to play volleyball: Sign up for the 5th annual Powderbuff boys volleyball tournament this week or next week at lunch. The Powderbuff tournament will take place on Wednesday, October 4 at 7:00 PM in the main gym. The cost is $20 and will get you a spot on your grade-level team and a t-shirt. Extra proceeds will go toward the Jefferson boys volleyball team this spring.

*DECA is holding their first meeting today at 2:15 in room B110. Join them for pizza, games, and the chance to meet the officers.

*The Robotics Team has an “ interest” meeting this evening at 7PM in room A104 by the metal shop for anyone interested in joining. Students and parents are invited to come check out the robot, take a tour of the surroundings, learn about what they can do on the team, and meet the mentors and team leadership.

*Jefferson Theatre Company invites all 9th-12th grade students to their Theatre Kick-Off Ice Cream Social today at 5:30pm on the Jefferson Outdoor Deck. Come and learn about their upcoming season and be a part of this wonderful program! Anyone interested in acting or in the “behind the scenes” aspects of theater is welcome to attend.
